About the firm
A practice built on three decades of doing the work
Rambabu & Co is a sole proprietorship of Cost Accountants formed in 2002, serving small, medium and large businesses in manufacturing, construction, projects and the service industries.
CMA D. Venkata Rambabu, FCMA
Proprietor
A fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, in the profession since 1988 and in independent practice since 2002. The work covers accounting, audit, consultancy, taxation and assurance, the design of costing systems, MIS, cost audit and financial consulting.
Over three decades the practice has served businesses in construction, power, mining, sugar, cement, paper, iron and steel, yarn and textiles, engineering and capital goods, and in the service industries — telecommunications, IT enabled services, advertising, security services, trading and charitable institutions.
That range brought with it appearances before tribunals in works contract, central excise and service tax matters, and dealings with the STPI and central excise departments on the bonding and de-bonding of equipment and premises, and on duty-free imports under project import regulations.
Since the introduction of GST in India he has lectured extensively on the law and its intricacies — training students, industry and fellow professionals through implementation and handholding them through compliance.

Approach
How assignments are run
A programme before the work
Assignments are executed after a detailed programme is drawn up, to keep the man hours spent on each job — and so the cost to the client — down without compromising the quality of the work.
Risk-led procedures
Engagement objectives are established first, and procedures are then performed against the financial and business risks identified. Findings and conclusions are discussed with the board before any report is presented.
Costed and agreed in advance
Management assignments are undertaken on an agreed estimate of time and cost, after a detailed proposal. Quotations are on a total assignment basis; special assignments are charged on time spent.
Supervised delivery
Each team is led by a senior principal or manager holding full responsibility for the assignment, operating under the guidance and control of the contact person, who confirms the work meets both the firm's standards and the client's requirements.
The firm’s endeavour has always been to work in partnership with clients — to explore the strategic options they face as a result of change, and to strengthen their ability to carry the chosen strategy through.
